Hari Raya is more than just a celebration of delicious food — it’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of forgiveness. As Ms Evelyn shared in her message this week, “Beyond the food, Hari Raya is also a time for forgiveness. Our Muslim friends practise the tradition of ‘salam kosong-kosong,’ where they seek and offer forgiveness, symbolising a fresh start. One often hears the phrase ‘Maaf zahir dan batin,’ expressing a sincere wish for forgiveness both outwardly and inwardly.”
